For about 16 centuries the Alano breed was used to hunt deer, wild boar, and to work with specially bred bulls "Bravo". In 1883 it was forbidden to use dogs for bullfighting in Spain, besides, the hunting grounds were reduced. The peculiarities of Alano behavior are dignity, calmness, a pronounced desire to dominate, but at the same time unconscious submission to the master, excellent work in a group. Alano always acts reasonably. On the hunt and on the pasture, he does not spend his energy on unnecessary actions.
